AN UPDATE ON A POTTS POINT APARTMENT

A couple of years ago my clients who owned the 'Potts Point

Apartment 1' purchased a much larger apartment on a higher level in the same building. They still loved the image of the smaller apartment but wanted to be able to see all their family and friends there.

We gutted the apartment and add lots of beautiful joinery - and of course mirrors reflecting the amazing view. So here is just a small part of the renovation.

While living in the apartment before the major refurbishment the clients discovered that the kitchen was an airless hotbox as soon as any cooking happened. By removing the impractical smoked glass walls and the giant marble island we have made a seamless transition with the entertaining areas.

Being passionate cooks they were clear about the need for uncluttered and easy maintenance benchtops as well as plenty of storage for cookware and small appliances - and wine glasses. The brown toned Laminan counters are a soft foil for the stark black joinery, and the mirrored spashbacks have brought the spectacular harbour views right into the kitchen. This kitchen now allows the clients and their friends to come together - it is the centre of the universe.
