NORTHBRIDGE HOUSE

One of the exciting things about being an "older" designer is having the "next generation" of clients ask me to help them.

This solid but rather bland house in Northbridge is owned by young business executives and their family.

The only difficult but permanent fixture in the house was the very contemporary glass staircase rising through the centre of the house to the gallery level.  The clients wanted a sophisticated "urban Hamptons" look - which is a perfect style for this house.  So using timber chairrails and paneling we have softened the stark staircase and created a very convivial living space.

We created a completely new and luxurious ensuite bathroom adjoining a fine-tuned dressing room next to the master bedroom in the gallery space.

Together with the "cooks dream kitchen" we have, in collaboration with the clients, created a strong design statement.

So now it is up to them to keep "decorating" - with my help when needed.  I'm sure there will be lots of artwork and more furniture very soon!  I am loving working with them.
